The Sustainability Book Club is a fun and welcoming environment for readers that want to learn more about the environment and sustainability. We meet on the FIRST Thursday of each Month at 6:30 PM at South Main Book Company. A time for snacks and socializing precedes the meeting. Book club books are discounted at South Main Book Company, or check to see if they are available at the library.
July 6: Washed Up: The Curious Journey of Flotsam and Jetsam by Skye Moody. The author has walked many beaches, collecting, identifying and considering what is found.
August 3: Grocery: The buying and selling of Food in America by Michael Ruhlman. Consider the supermarket and how we consume, produce and distribute food.
September 7: Salt: A history of the World by Michael Kurlansky. Consider how salt has influenced wars, religions, economies, food and more.
