Mike and his brother, Robert are 3rd generation farmers on what used to be a family dairy farm. Their farm is on a bigger scale than the last few we have visited- it is a 300 acre farm with about 30 acres being used for produce! They still have about 30 head of beef cattle as well.
Miller Farms grows corn, strawberries, cantaloupe, beans, peas, okra, wheat, and soybeans. They grow 3 varieties of strawberries: Chandler, Albion, and Camarosa. Did you know that they plant the strawberry plants in the fall? Mid-September to be exact.
You will see Mike and his wife, Melinda at the Salisbury Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings, but if you venture to Lexington, you will see his son, Adam, or head to Cabarrus, you will see his brother, Robert.
