May 2017 Riot at Walnut Hill

This year’s riot was another success!  We could not have done it without you!

The Vista at Walnut Hill is a truly beautiful facility. We were so fortunate to be here this year. Even though it was raining, Riot attendees were all comfortable and dry inside the building with plenty of room to spare. (With the exception of some younger attendees who were more than happy to be outside splashing and playing in the rain). A big thanks to Fred and Mary Lou Williams for being such generous and accommodating hosts!

Divine Appetit outdid themselves with delicious food, an excellent presentation, and wonderful service! D’iandra and her crew were fabulous! The menu: sweet potato deviled eggs with bacon, mushroom garlic risotto, perch sliders, chard and kale salad, grits with vegetable gravy, grilled squash with onions and basil, green salad, and roasted Buffalo cauliflower with a creamy dijon sauce. Most attendees went back multiple times to sample all the delicious food.

Hats off to Chase Reynolds for smoking/grilling two pigs to supplement the buffet! The pork was delicious, tender and mouthwatering! (one was from Two Pigs Farm and one from Thomas Family Farm).

New Sarum featured a special Bread Riot Brew that was made with produce from Fine Farming. Thank you to the New Sarum group we love you! Dover Vineyards offered 6 varieties of wine that were a big hit with the attendees! Liz Dover is a welcome addition to the Bread Riot family!

Big Break and The Paper Wasps provided the entertainment portion of our event. The music was perfect for the setting! A big thanks to Andrew Hodges, our music goto guy!

Thank you to the board and all the volunteers and sponsors who made this event happen! We couldn’t have done it without you.

If you didn’t attend this year’s event, you really missed out on a good time. Put the 3rd Sunday in May on your 2018 calendars!
