We Dig Salisbury: March 25

Hosted by the Salisbury Community Appearance Commission and the Salisbury Tree Board, this event featured nature/educational booths, a tree-planting demo, raffle prizes and a tree giveaway. Even Stormy the Duck was there! Due to rain, the event was moved from the park to the Civic Center; however, everyone made the best of it—and learned a lot!

Salisbury Farmers Market Opening Day: April 15

After a long winter, everyone was excited for the return of the farmers market. It was a busy morning, with rows of vendors selling fresh produce, plants, meat, eggs, honey and more. At the Bread Riot booth, we chatted with friends, informed new visitors about our group, and challenged everyone to play our seed matching game. It was nice to see so many people come out!

Earth Day Jam: April 22

This benefit for Happy Roots at Bell Tower Green was a great event, despite the stormy weather at times. Bread Riot was set up among a host of environmental and educational booths, all doing their part for a healthier planet. With a backdrop of music from two stages, Bread Riot board members and volunteers greeted visitors, handed out brochures, and helped with kids’ activities. All day, we folded origami butterflies, stamped recycled bags and bookmarks, and played the seed matching game. We’re getting good at that last one!
