Bread Riot's School Harvest Bags program, which distributes fresh produce from area farmers to families from two Rowan County schools, is being featured in a video on Neighborhood TV, a streaming news service that shares local stories.

On January 25, 2023, Neighborhood TV staff filmed Bread Riot board members and volunteers sorting and packing fresh produce for the 20 bags that are being delivered to Koontz Elementary School and North Rowan Middle School every other week.

Bread Riot president Dottie Hoy and secretary Carol Schmitz-Corken discussed the many benefits of the program, from supporting small farmers to providing healthy food for local children who might be experiencing food insecurity.
