Local Farmer, Bread Riot & Donors Help Feed Livestock After Hurricane Helene

Bread Riot donated approximately a ton of livestock feed as part of Correll Farms’ deliveries to Watauga County.

Farmers know that livestock needs to be fed, even during an emergency like we’ve seen with Hurricane Helene. On October 6 and 13, David and Cheryl Correll of Red Barn Market / Correll Farms LLC. answered a call from WNC farmers in need and delivered truckloads of feed and supplies to a distribution point in Watauga County, just outside of Boone.

Bread Riot was able to support this important cause with a donation that totaled approximately 2,000 pounds of livestock feed. Donations from the Corrells and members of the public purchased two additional tons of feed plus fencing supplies.

Thank you to the Corrells for making these deliveries and all the other donors who helped fill this need! We hope to continue helping WNC farmers recover from this destructive event.
